Thanks to the Christian group "Ballers In Christ," we have received another large donation to become closer to our goal.

Starting our campaign

This morning a few students presented in front of the Loveland school district to start getting the school to start recognizing our campaign, and will be doing so again tomorrow morning. Some pictures were taken to show our presentation.

Let's hope they didn't mess up. :p

$811 and counting...and visit our Facebook Fan Page!!

We have already deposited $811 toward our goal into the account--we are well on our way to 1/3 of the cost to maintain one school ($3000) for a whole year!!  Please continue to encourage friends and family to contribute all that they can to the cause--time, energy, creativity, and passion--that's the perfect recipe!  Also, we now have a Facebook Fan page, thanks to 8th grader, Sarah Goldenberg.  You can find it as: LMS Haiti Fund...sign up to be a fan today--let's spread the word as far as it will go! Song: "Help (for Haiti)," by 8th grader, Austen Funke

The following song was written last night as a sort of theme song to our campaign--we are working toward performing it at the Dodgeball Tournament on February 25th.  It is yet another heartfelt example of the passion and enthusiasm for this cause, and also representative of the idea that talents and creativity from the community are the focus of the campaign.  Thank you, Austen!

"Everyone needs help; Some more than others; They are in need; Our sisters and brothers; What will we do; To give a helping hand; What will we say; To give as much hope as we can.  We can't imagine the things they're going through; We can't sit back; What are we gonna do? 

They need help; Let's help them; They need food; Let's feed them; They need money; Let's give it to them; They need to learn; Let's teach them; They need clothes; Let's clothe them; They need homes; Let's give homes to them; Why can't we do as much as we can; Why can't we help the people in the land of Haiti?

Over 200,000 dead; And maybe more; Under pounds of rubble and streets crowded even more; Children are running astray; No parents to be with them; No one to care for them; We don't know if they're going to be okay.

The horrified faces; A heart pounds and races; Longing for some hope; With nothing left in their nation; We must help the Haitians; And answer their piercing screams; It's all too real; No pretending."

Update

On Monday the 25th,
                                 We already made a deposit of $590.00, earned by students who collected in their neighborhoods. We are well on our way to our goal!
