Did you say over $5000 after our first week???

  • Our latest total, after yesterday's deposit with the first round of Dodgeball Tournament registration money included, is........DRUM ROLL........$5112.71!!!  We are now well on our way to supporting our second school for a whole year!  WAY TO GO LOVELAND!!
  • A special THANK YOU also goes out to the anonymous donor who came to LMS with three 5/3rd envelopes from your family to donate to our cause--that was extraordinary and much appreciated.  Your generosity was noted by all the LMS French students.
  • Due to a little bit of chaos in regards to making dodgeball teams, we have extended the LMS deadline, and have opened the invitation for 6th graders from LIS to create teams to play in the competition.  Registration forms will continue to be available at the LMS circle desk, as well as at the LIS circle desk and in the LIS office.  They are YELLOW and registration rules are printed on the back.  Due to the upcoming weather forecast, we will make all registration for LMS and LIS due by 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 11th.  Each player must pay $10, & all teams have 10 players.  Therefore, with your registration form, you must turn in $100 total to hold your spot in the competition.  If you are an LMS student, please bring your registration form and money directly to Mrs. Pecsok in room 61 and if you are an LIS student, please take your form and $100 to the LIS office.  Mrs. Pecsok will venture down each day to pick them up!
  • We encourage all Loveland community members to keep doing random acts of community service and kindness to earn money to donate to our cause.  There are some great ideas for earning money this weekend among LMS students...how about selling hot chocolate or shoveling snow??  Mother nature has given us the PERFECT way to earn money to contribute to the Haiti fund!
We have 23 more days to meet our $15,000 goal to support 5 Haitian schools for a year....and we only have $9887.29 more to go...WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A donation from the furthest away...

A donation from the furthest away so far....Mrs. Pecsok's childhood friend, Joanna, sent a donation from Porvenir, Chile, which is at the very southern tip of Chile in the Tierra del Fuego.  Joanna is trilingual and one of her languages is French.  She so admired the students of Loveland Middle School that she wanted to make a donation of her own!  If you would like to learn more about Porvenir (at the end of the earth!), you can check out Joanna's blog:   at http://www.inthelandoffire.blogspot.com/  Thank you, Joanna, for supporting us from so far away!!

Our total at 5/3rd is now up to $2,380.11... we are now only $619.89 away to supporting one school for an entire year. Keep the donations coming!

Hats And Hair For Haiti!

On February 12th at Loveland Middle School, you can wear your favorite hat or wig to school with the purchase of a $1 ticket, which are being sold during lunch or Tiger Time this week. All proceeds go to the Restavek Foundation. you must also have your ticket present on the 12th in order to participate.

Cat Sitting....Even the Cats Love Haiti!!

7th grader, Meg, donated money that she earned over the weekend by taking care of a neighbor's cat.  What a generous donation--we appreciate your hard work!  You're even teaching the neighborhood pets to be giving. :)

Reading for Money!

8th grader, Jason, an avid reader, has accumulated sponsors for the number of books he can finish in the month of February.  In the last week alone, he has read over a thousand pages and is well on his way to his goal to support our cause....way to go Jason, and keep reading!!

An unconventional birthday party request....

Thank you to 7th grader, Madison, who requested Haiti donations instead of gifts.  What a caring thing to do--it takes a special kind of heart to put children you've never met before your own wishes....way to go!!  THANK YOU and Happy Birthday!!

Neighborhood Collection....SUCCESS!!

Thank you to Danielle and Samantha, two 7th graders, who gave a large donation after bundling up this weekend and going door to door in the frigid temperatures through their neighborhood!  We are so grateful for their generosity that moved us closer to our goal!
